Round up again

The busiest time of the year for all of us. Plus my mother in law is moving and I want to help, the school semester is finished but required a lot of last minute work, crafts for Christmas ....you get the picture! All I can do is a round up because I'm not a perfectionist!!!

Both shirt and skirt are thrifted and although the colors match I only noticed today. Like I have already said I want a better balance between my thrift finds and modern trends so I accessorised in multiple tiny rings as I noticed a trend going on there. I also played with burgundy red because I love the color but is also a trend. Do you do similar combinations?

Black and white base and everything that caught my attention in the morning! Not super trendy but wearable enough!

When I realised my dress was too short for my taste it was too late to change my mind. Iwas midway to school. I tried not to think about it the whole day and tried to be sitted as much as possible.

Have a great week ahead. It's the ultimate celebration week!

Round Up

It's been a while since I was around and this because of the hectic rythm of the time before Christmas. But I had been taking my photos almost daily and this is what I looked like. Everyday wear for everyday mid life woman.

Working class pants

That's it . Those Levi's pants have to go. They are one of the most expensive items in my wardrobe but utterly unflattering to my body because I think are low waist. Another reason is that I shortened themtoo much. I've been thinking about not wearing them any more for sometime now but when I saw the photos today I was sure. I'll save them for olive picking. They are working class pants after all, aren't they?

Issue number two: Hair. They need to be cut but I'm undecisive at how and where to go since my hairdresser decided to take a pension.

You can't help me with where but any suggestion about the style and color will be greatly appreciated.

The red skirt

I sometimes thrift clothes just to experiment with style and color without breaking the bank. That's the reason I bought the red skirt I'm wearing today. It's a cotton/linen blend and it wrinkles like mad. But it has served it's purpose well. To realise that a red skirt is a staple/basic piece that I love to wear and I can combine with most of my clothes. So, now I feel quilt free to splerge on a red skirt and enjoy wearing it

I kept everything else black as I find it the best way to let a piece shine. And I added red details to tie the look.

My favorite vest

Today I built my outfit like this. I put on my denim pants and my white shirt. They are called basics for a reason.I looked in the mirror and then back at my wardrobe. I spotted a woolen waistcoat I thrifted last winter. It looked just fine over the shirt and denim pants. The shades of brown called for brown belt and brown shoes. I had both. I then found a favorite jacket cause I needed an outer layer.

Silk dress

If you had come across a fine silk zebra print dress while thrifting would you have snapped it or not? Well, I know you would and I acted the same way. However, I had to wait until now to wear it, God knows why. Maybe because I wanted to layer it. Too much zebra print doesn't make me feel comfortable.

I tried to use   the belt and the boots to give an edge to the whole outfit because the dress and the cardi were much ladylike for my taste.

Lace casual

Lace and fleece is an unexpected combination born out of necessity. You see the weather is driving people crazy over here with its moodiness. One moment is very warm and the next can get very windy and cold. I had to be prepared. The white pants ground the look and the belt is used as an accessory together with the necklace and ring.

First try

Hi my friends across the world! It's a special day for me today and the reason is that after 5 years of blogging I was finally able to buy myself a DSLR camera to document my outfits. I'm so proud that I worked hard to save the money for it. But somehow I also wanted to establish my love for blogging and have enough of my own style to show before I buy a new camera. I struggled with my photos for long time and I knew that my approach to blogging was more visual than verbal and lately, I felt so much like I didn't give my outfits the presentation they deserved so I put it all together. But that's all in the past now.

That's how I like my outfits. Something I made myself, something I bought retail, something I thrifted and something I was gifted.

Can you guess which is which?
