Vintage hair style

Easy like Sunday morning was the song that kept on coming to my head today. I had some free time and I spent it to make my hair. I watched a couple of videos and I experimented. I will say I'm happy with the result. It makes my simple outfit to look special!

Wrap dress

I had been waiting for the whole summer to wear this wrap dress I thrifted back in spring. But wearing a simple wrap dress is not enough for me. It seems that I need to add layers, color and texture. Is this right or wrong? But who cares?

Refresh the sweater

I had to wear my 28 years old sweater. Yeah! another piece of clothing I have for ever and this because my mum saved and kept in good condition before she gave it back to me a year ago. Of course now I style it differently and it feels modern. I remember I didn't like it so much back then. Knitted sweater??? Blah!!! It seems that now I can appreciate it much more!

 

 It's not shown clearly in the photos but it's soft cotton ,cream color and has braids in the pattern. The white shirt I added to make it longer and because I like how the button up shows under the front opening of the sweater. My trusted, new denim pants, modern shoes and the Raybans complete the look.

Talking about old things and memories, look what I found  hanging on a remote wall in the new school I go to this year. It's the poster of the 4 seasons complete with drawings of things we do, eat and celebrate each season. What is so great about the poster apart from being a total vintage sweetie is that the same poster was on the wall of my classroom when I was in the first 3 classes of primary school.

Golden shirt

Μy golden shirt gets so little wear because it's such a difficult piece. And the fit is not so great either. So, to my mind it cries out for layering. And layering I did. I hid it under my black sporty style cardigan and also rolled the sleeves to hide any extra... goldness.

In town with MJ

Wonderfully bright ,sunny day today. The perfect opportunity to go for a walk with my daughter. We visited a local museum and I bought her shoes. I was over the moon when I realised we wear the same shoes size. All of you out there who have daughters you know what that means, don't you???

A few words about my outfit. I still want to try all my clothes with the white pants. I don't know why I fancied a green theme today but I did so out came the green thrifted totally polyester sweater. I don't like the fit so much but the color is fantastic. Then, out came the shirt which is actually blue. Both pieces were up in the attic for some months and they feel practically new. Great feeling!

One suggestion

If I could suggest just one piece to introduce and experiment with this winter, this would be a pair of white pants. Excellent stuff. Just try it . It would refresh your whole wardrobe.So many new combinations!!!

Vintage blouse

I was delighted to finally wear the blue cobalt blouse my mum gave me last Christmas. It's sewn by my aunt who was a skilled professional seamstress. The blouse is many years old but made of great fabric, I don't know the name of it. I fell like wearing a piece of family history.

Winter closet sort out

Quiet, relaxed but very cold Sunday. The temperature dropped suddenly and it rains for many days now. Sudden shift from summer to winter. Now that I think of it, it was not so quiet since among other things I felt like a closet purge and sort out was the right thing to do. Now, I'm satisfied and with the new things I bought I'm ready for creative remixes all through winter.

Everything white

Time flies during the weekend, don't even try to argue that! White shirt has been a breath of fresh air to my wardrobe. I love how it brightens up everything. I'm off to bring winter clothes from the attic and dream of new combinations. I feel so creative this weekend!

The layer season

Finally, the rainy days are here but not yet need for tights as it's pretty warm. Still the weather permits the first attempts of layering . So vintage thrifted and hand sewn dress over a silk and thrifted pale blue shirt and both under my 5 years old cardigan. Boy, I had a lot of fun!!!
