Is there a color that you gave it a second chance because it's trendy?

Hmmm, I usually regret it when I do : > because I look best when I stick to my best colors. But these yellow jeans look really great, esp. hemmed above the ankle like you did.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've started wearing green and turquoise, not quite neon but close. I even wore a green top with orange pants, which I would never have done. Even my 84 year old dad said I looked nice. hehehe
ReplyDeleteYellow really suits you! I do think that if you are nervous about a particular colour or not used to it, wearing it away from your face, or as a small part of an outfit or an accessory kind of eases you into it.
ReplyDeleteI still have issues with pastel colours, I think they are too pale for me, though I have tried. I am not at all bothered about whether a style or colour is trendy or fashionable! xx
I'm sort of interested in trends as a way to get inspiration or try something new.
DeleteThis colorblock mania has helped a lot to experiment with colors. It's always nice when you get a compliment, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteYellow gets passed over more often than not so to see someone wearing yellow is kinda rare but more often than not - very flattering such as the yellow you are wearing.
ReplyDeleteThis year I got a wild hair & started wearing reds - something I never felt I could "pull off", but turns out red looks pretty good on me.
Why don't you start your own blog and show us how lovely you are in reds?
DeleteI've been tossing around that very idea for some time now.
DeleteWell, I guess I'm a color woman, I wear a lot of color, so I just can't say I do it because it's trendy.
ReplyDeleteCool outfit.
xoxo
I like them with the toned-down sweater/shoes. I'm more likely to go with green than yellow.
ReplyDeleteFirst comes green. Then all other colors follow!
DeleteI know that after Pantone announced its color of the year that I went right out and thrifted a bunch of items in that color. I would say the price was right for these pants and they look great on you.
ReplyDeleteYou are so very well organised and practical!
DeleteLove the yellow pants. I wore yellow shorts the other day and that was a stretch for me. I love color, but am not always brave enough to wear it. Mint green is one of those colors that I've given a chance to and I really love it now.
ReplyDeleteMint green and powder blue are my favorites for the season.
DeleteI really like that shade of yellow on you. I've been adding orange to my closet because it is trendy and I'm enjoying that. It will never look good near my face, but works well as a lively accent.
ReplyDeleteHi Angie, Yellow yikes! I think I have a yellow print blouse I made a long time ago...Maybe it'll come up for a refashion/refit sometime. You look great in those pants! And thanks for stopping by at Project Minima. I didn't realize you were one of the "Visibles" at Patti's.
ReplyDeleteI love yellow and I love these trousers on you Angie!! I don't think we should be afraid of trying ANY new colour, but I know what you mean... when I first read that mint and pastels were coming back my first thought was uuuurgh!! But once you see new, and beautiful, pieces in these previously "hideous" colours I find it soon changes your mind! So mint is my new fave and old enemy ;)

great find on those pants.
ReplyDeleteThat's so funny, I was just talking about this last week (or maybe the week before). There aren't any colors I've given a second chance because they're on trend, but there are definitely styles I've tried because they're so trendy. And that was even if I didn't particularly like them or they weren't my style. I think everyone does it but that bloggers may be particularly susceptible to it.
ReplyDeleteI think yellow is a perfect color for slacks or jeans. It's summery and brings out the fun in anyone's personality. I can't wear it next to my face since it makes me look sallow, but for pants? OH YA!!
