Confessions of a proud remixer

I have a certain confession to make. Two months ago, when I first tried Kendi's challenge little did I know that this idea would turn into something permanent in the way I dress everyday!
Like I've already said when the challenge was over I found myself at a loss .I felt like I was all over the place, had no idea what to wear and somehow lacked direction!
Then a thought appeared with hesitation at first... why don't I pick some items again and see what new outfits will come out of those?
Then Kendi announced the second round but although I liked and enioyed the first one I  didn't want to go offtcial this time.
So I picked my items ( I admit I got inspired by her choice), I missed the dates and I present you with my first outfit!
The benefits for me are that my closet is neat again and has plenty of room so I can take a good look of my 30 items as I've put the rest away only to rediscover them in a couple of weeks.
I will remix the hell out of these 30 items and surprise myself and others(I hope) with my new outfits.
Would you make this approach a permanent feature to your dressing habits? Or do you want to have unlimited possibilities right in front of you every time you open your closet?

This is what my outfit looked like when I left home this morning! I plan to remix 3 jackets as lovely Kendi will do that were sitting in my closet since last automn!
You wanna see details?

It looks fancy right? have a happy enjoyable remixing and many thanks to Kendi for having this great idea!!!

  1. Oh my goodness, I love that belt. And I love it especially with the black outfit. You look awesome!

I've been finding myself overwhelmed by too many clothes lately, so I think this challenge will help me to take stock of what I really need and hopefully I'll do a big closet purge when it's all said and done.

  2. The challenge has definitely affected me, even though I still love the thrill of having new items, i do prefer to have a limited wardrobe. Who knows maybe a girl can live off of only 120 items in her closet! 30 items for each season! Best of luck!

  3. What beautiful colors on your jacket! Super cool. I was also on the fence about going official on the 30 for 30 challenge, but I thought, while I'm doing it, might as well. Keeping it so will probably motivate me to stick to the challenge. Goodluck to us!

  4. I love what you've come up with here. Your waist looks super tiny! And I can see all kinds of possibilities in the jacket.

My takes on monthly colors is Kendi-inspired too.

  7. i've considered doing a thirty for thirty every month just because it seems like i have an easier time coming up with outfits when my options are limited. anyway, i included a chambray shirt in my thirty too, so i can't wait to see how you style it!

  10. I think it makes things SO much easier! I loose direction too and end up with all my boring ole picks.
This look is so flattering on you and your waist! You look great and the blue and black go so well together.

  12. I did the same thing! I added a few more items back but I have about 1/3 of the clothes in my closet now.

I have to try tying my belt that way - it looks so cool!! Also loving the jacket. The colors are beautiful.
