I want to keep on blogging but I don't want to be on the lookout for the next thing to buy!!!
I know I sound confused because that's the way I feel! How do you feel about all these? How do we get the constant spending out of fashion? I trully want your opinion about this!
I never thought they would go so well together. But they do, if I may say so!
Is it that for fashion you need money but for style you don't? Is this fashion epiphany because others have said that but now finally it makes sense? |
Those two things definitely do go together! I love the belted jacket on you, this is a great outfit!
ReplyDeleteI follow several blogs that were created specifically to chronicle how they can remix their current wardrobe without buy new pieces. That's also part of the 30 for 30 challenge that so many people are doing, because they have to get creative with only 30 pieces and not go shopping during the challenge either.
You can be stylish without buying into every single trend.
I'm completely in agreement....what I find challenging is not buying or dressing for my blog. Trying to just keep it fun. There is so much consumerism in fashion and in some ways; blogs just increase that. That's one reason why I focus on thrifting on my blog. I want to prove to myself that I don't need to spend alot of money to look and feel good. ~Serene
ReplyDeleteLOVE this outfit! That scarf looks so great with that jacket!

I love your tweed jacket!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand where you are coming from. Like Melissa said, doing a challenge like the 30-for-30 helps. (or going to india where you've got to figure out where to buy bananas not shirts!)
ooh, Angie, I love the scarf with this jacket. I think my thrifting is a way to keep my spending under control...I can't succumb to every trend, though I do look for color that seems to pop up in new lines.
ReplyDeleteI love the jacket! I know how you feel - I try not to succumb to every trend and actually have not bought anything since November - I decided to make anything I want instead! Much cheaper and way more satisfying. :)
ReplyDeleteI love when people start thinking this way. Sometimes I feel like I am the only person who hates spending money on clothes!

I think style requires money in a more gradual way than fashion, which requires constant cash flow. I try to do my best with the trends that will work best for my wardrobe, but if I can't possible buy everything I don't worry about it. And I have noticed that trends last much longer in the blog world.
